Majeglabdrun or Maching Ladrup [mantra : Om a: vam guru harinisa sidi hum]is the founder of the Xiji Sect of tibetan buddhism. She is a follower of Padangbasanjie, an Indian master with great achievements. Legend has it that when Padangbasanjie went ot tibet for the third time. he taught the doctrines of the Xiji Sect to Jiaodun Shijiayixi and yalong Maresepo. Most of Yalong's followers were male. Jiaodun Shijiayixi taught the doctrines of the Xiji sect to his nephew Jiaodun Suonam who was a lama. Jiaodun Suonam taught the doctorines to his female followers Majeglabdrun. Her followers were female. Majeglabdrun was the only female master with achievements. Majeglabdrun and her followers often practiced Buddhism in barren hills and forests. It was said that she hand passed one hundred and eighty burial grounds. that is why she was depicted in barren hills and forests with many flowers in full bloom in this thangka.
