Vasundhara tibetan name : Jam dbyans is the Bodhisattva of Wisdom confers mastery of the Dharma - retentive memory, mental perfection and eloquence. He takes many forms. The most characteristic one is a sixteen - year- old youth, symbolizing that Buddhist wisdom is the clear knowledge of reality, critical and penetrating, not merely a venerable resignation or heightened common sense accumulated from long experience. He is a form of the Bodhisattva and along with Avalokitesvara and Vajrapani, he is one of the three family protectors, that of Variochana’s Tathagata family. In his right hand he holds the sword of truth upward to cut through ignorance. His attributes are the sword of wisdom and a Tibetan book (Prajnyaparamitra Sutra).
